La Citruelle Celeste de Citracado

This brew is a collaboration from The Bruery, Elysian and Stone.  The flavors are more of the Fall / Winter variety but even though Spring is around the corner I can always enjoy this type of beer.

On the bottle it mentions it is brewed with pumpkin, yams, toasted fenugreek, lemon verbena and birch bark.  Although the last time I remember having fenugreek was in my Mother's Milk tea to improve lactation.  I wouldn't let that scare you off.  This beer is worth a bit of lactating.

The color is a lovely, dark amber.  Out of the bottle it has a slight head which results in a subtle level of carbonation.  The pumpkin and yam come through in the nose but not in an overpowering way. Most of the lasting flavor is on the back of the tongue.

The flavor combinations give me a comforting feeling that warms my soul.  Now that I think of it, as the sun sets and the evening chill begins, this is a perfect Phoenix winter beer.  In case you don't know that translates into Fall for the Midwest and Northeastern parts of the country.  I think I'm inspired to go light a fire in the pit and watch the stars come out.

Hope you get a chance to give this brew a try.  As always, enjoy your craft brew...cheers!

The Bruery Autumn Maple

Now this is a pumpkin spice beer, probably my favorite this season. Spice, a bit sweet and a dark rich brown color. Not a real thick beer but tasty.

Mischief Strong ale from The Bruery

Nice crisp taste, smells like a good Belgian triple, but not as wine like. It went very well with our spicy Seafood Ceviche we were enjoying. Lovely flavor overall.

The Bruery - Three French Hens

This had a fruity and pecan pie smell. Tasted like figs cherries and winey. Low carbonation and a very Belgium yeast taste. It was a big tastey beer that really got better as it warmed. Thick amber and clear in color.
